My 24th Year | Anna's Birthday Bucket-list | Personal
I am 25 years old today. That's 1/4th of my life. Looking back would I change anything? No. It's been just how it's needed to be for me to learn and grow. I love life. I love being here. It's worth LIVING. I enjoy celebrating life by making a list on my birthday of things I want to do for the next year (kind of like a New Year Resolution list, but without the January 1st pressure).
Here was this past year's list (24 items because I turned 24 last year):
1. RUN A 5K WITH CLAIRE
2. MINIMAL WARDROBE
3. KONMARI METHOD
If you know me, you know I love KonMari. There is something more to it than just "decluttering and organizing". It's SERIOUSLY life changing. Your mind switches to a better perspective about "things" and there is more focus on what really matters.
There are more moments I have when putting something away (like laundry or just things) or cleaning where "I'm happy about this life I'm living and the way my home feels" pops into my mind because I've gone through this method of discarding/getting rid of what doesn't bring me joy. There is a sense of relief and positive motivation to move forward in life.
Please read this in your lifetime sometime. If you take it seriously, it will change how you view your home and life. You will start to actually do what you want to do. You will start living!
4. STYLED PHOTOSHOOT
I tried my best to contact florists to create something for a shoot (I'd really love to use more floral in my photos) but it never happened. So I went ahead and made a crown for my own maternity photos and I think they turned out really nice! Thank you to my sister, Claire Brooks for taking these for us :)
5. COMPLETE 10 PINTEREST PINS
Mostly food, but here are snippets of my pins of what I did. Some of these apply to other items on my list, but this is where I got the inspiration first!
6. HAVE A 1ST BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR MILO
7. PUT TOGETHER A VIDEO FOR MILO'S FIRST YEAR
8. MAKE A TENT FOR MILO
9. FINISH A JOURNAL
So I haven't finished it, but I started this one and it's made a difference in my marriage. It's a smaller journal that I write notes to Kent in. It's helped me appreciate him more and what he does and who he is. <3
This was the LAST item on my list and I did it this morning. I had plans to go on a hike to Table Rock back in August/September - that never happened and so then I had plans to go on R Mountain sometime when it got warmer, but that never happened because of how pregnant I was feeling. So this morning Chip and I went on a "hike" to the Temple this morning. It's a stretch to call it a "hike" but uphill for 1 mile while 9 months pregnant was hard enough for me. haha I had to take a break and stretch half way in between.
11. GET PREGNANT
Grateful for our Rainbow Baby coming this May!! :)
12. HAVE A DOG FOR A YEAR
We did it. We had a dog for a year. I'm never getting a puppy again unless I have the space, hardwood floors and patience to train one. But we love him (and still have him).
13. BUY A NICE SPORTS BRA
14. PICTURE BY REXBURG SIGN
Again, thank you Claire!
15. FREE ART PRINT
16. MAKE A BOX OUTSIDE FOR PLANTS
17. PHOTO GIVEAWAY
18. PLAN A TRIP - HORSESHOE BEND
19. MAKE A BOXWOOD WREATH
20. NEW HEADSHOT
I got the guts to ask an awesome local photographer if we could switch and do head shots for each other. I'm so glad I did! I love Jaycee!
21. HOT AIR BALLOON EVENT
The most amazing little event of the year. My friend Camilla went the year before and I HAD to see it for myself! A beautiful morning!
23. WATCH 'WHERE THE RED FERN GROWS' MOVIE
24. BE IN THE 140'S
